2012 Giro d'Italia to climb into Grand Tour history - 2,757 m

May 26, stage 20: Caldes/Val di Sole - Passo dello Stelvio, 218 km (we'll be there, for sure!)

The stage is insane. Can Grand Tours still go higher? Is this record unbeatable? (compared to Tour de France: The Col du Galibier — 2,645 m and Vuelta a España: Sierra Nevada - 2,510 m)

    Just a little correction: Tour de France "altitude record" is the Col Agnel from 2011, 2744 m. Tour riders climbed over Agnel on the stage just prior to the Col de Izoard, finishing (winner Andy Schleck) on the Col du Galibier. That was also the highest finish ever in Tour's history.

      Cool Bro! Just wanted to highlight the great Agnel, made it once from the Italy side, very long ascent with partially steeper than 15 % during the last few km's. Good luck for your sorry to say hopeless;-) project!
